
Dr. Sally Z. Lauterjung

Dr. Sally
Lauterjung grew up in Dover, Ohio and began her studies of dentistry at
Ohio State University in Columbus. After obtaining her Certificate
in Dental Hygiene, she was accepted for admission to The College of
Dentistry in 1987. She quickly found her love of working with
children and was accepted for post-doctoral training at the Medical
College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia after graduation.
The post-doctoral training
program encompassed disciplines such as behavior guidance, care of the
medically and developmentally compromised and disabled patients,
supervision of orofacial growth and development, caries prevention,
sedation, pharmacological management and hospital dentistry, as well as
other traditional fields of dentistry. She excelled at working with
the other dental and medical specialists at the Medical College of Georgia
hospital and University Hospital there, providing comprehensive care for
hospitalized patients. Dr. Sally earned the Hospital Dentistry award
for outstanding contribution to pediatric dental patients.
After completing her
post-doctoral training, she married and moved to Chapel Hill, North
Carolina, while her husband finished his Masters degree. While there,
she worked with an outstanding pediatric dentist and mastered the
day-to-day workings of a successful pediatric dental practice. The
Lauterjungs moved to Ohio in 1994 and Dr. Sally opened her practice in
1995. Since that time she has worked diligently to provide the
highest caliber pediatric dental care for the children of Medina and its
surrounding communities.

She enjoys spending time with
her husband and three children. When time permits she enjoys
running, cooking and traveling with her family. |

Dr. Leonor Hernandez ( "Dr.
Leo" )

Dr. Hernandez was
born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela and first attended Dental School at
the Universidad Central de Venezuela. She completed a fellowship in
Pediatric Dentistry at "San Rafael Hospital" in Madrid, Spain. Dr.
Hernandez obtained her DDS degree after completing the advanced standing
program at Case Western Reserve University, followed by a two year Post
Graduate residency program in Pediatric Dentistry at Rainbow Babies and
Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. During her residency, in
addition to being involved with the Craniofacial Team, she conducted a
research study on the expression of a natural anti-microbial protein
(SLPI) in healthy and HIV infected children. More important, it was
this residency program where she was trained to work on the special needs
of infants, children, adolescents and those with special health care
needs.Dr.
Hernandez is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Pediatric
Dentistry Program at Case Western's School of Dental Medicine. She
is a member of the following organizations:
She has been
certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is
currently on the Medical Staff of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
Finally, she enjoys spending time with her family and joining them for
different activities such as tennis, soccer, skiing and traveling.
